Topshop is undoubtedly one of London’s biggest trend setters, and the label’s grip on fashion is slowly becoming a worldwide epidemic. For their FW 13 collection, inspiration was drawn from the Brit-pop era, and interesting shifts in design were seen as the show progressed. Featuring darker pieces at first with, swing coats, bomber jackets, and mid-length skirts, set the tone for an urban based collection. However, instead of staying consistent with the first few pieces, the textures and colors progressed to become lighter and softer. Bright blue’s, over sized florals, and fuzzy knitwear pushed the grungy looks to the side and completely changed the direction of the entire show. Many different textures were layered together, and neutral tones also made an appearance throughout. Topshop brought us a little bit of everything, and a whole lot of glamour. Oh, and famous It-girl Cara Delevingne was the sweet icing on the cake.
