NYFW: TADASHI SHOJI FALL/WINTER 2013

Designer Tadashi Shoji found inspiration for his FW 13 within Russian history, and culture. Many of the pieces are reminiscent of the grandeur era of the 18th century. The fit of the gowns meet in a beautiful medium and carry an elegant beauty  across the runway. What’s so interesting about this particular collection is the element of story telling imbued through the gowns.  He goes through the fall of Russia’s monarchic system and leads us to the revolutionaries who took action around the year of 1825 with folkloric details.  The collection is dark, feminine and even a little sexy.
