THE HANGAR 2.0

By Jeffrey Bustos

The HANGAR is not just a gallery, it’s an Arts Initiative.
A year ago Allyson Parker was in Miami on vacation doing a Pop-Art show. Shortly afterwards, the possibility of opening a gallery arose and, well, the rest is Wynwood History. The HANGAR is home to artists, as a gallery that integrates diverse styles into a concoction that screams “MiamiED”. The art movement has started to gain momentum in Miami and Allyson Parker wants to use the HANGAR as an impetus for art. Since opening its doors to local artists in November of 2011 the HANGAR has been friendly in accommodating the artists’ needs with various membership packages. In addition it understands the importance of social media in today’s competitive art world, thus having PR packages that help the artist promote their art through websites, photographs, videos, and interviews. In addition the HANGAR has studios for artists looking for a place produce their art.

As of lately Allyson has begun Phase II of what she projects the HANGAR to be. Allyson wants the HANGAR to be home to creative growth and interaction beyond a gallery. She has begun THINK TANK Saturdays where artists and visionaries get together in a logos of ideas and projects. In addition she has started working with Better Block Miami (betterblock.org) in their new Urban Planning of Wynwood. The HANGAR is structured to become a home to art as a whole. So keeps your eyes open these coming months as musicians, performers, and actors all collaborate together to expand your aesthetic experience.

Stop by at the HANGAR during Artwalk and get the chance to interact with our artists. You will be given the opportunity to interview our artists and ask them the questions. All the interviews will be filmed and will be uploaded to our Facebook (www.facebook.com/thehangarmiami) and hangargallery.com. Make sure to like us on facebook to keep tabs on all our exciting and future events or stop by during the week and take a look at our gallery when the zaniness of Artwalk is not present.
